Pet Ultrasound
A non-invasive technique to get a better look at the internal organs in the belly is via abdominal ultrasound. We are happy to provide ultrasound services at Oakdale Veterinary Center in order to give our patients higher-quality care.
Pet Ultrasound in Canton, IL
We use ultrasound, a remarkable imaging tool, to diagnose and treat dogs and cats more effectively. Relying solely on X-ray would constrain our abilities because it is only useful for problems involving the bones and joints.
Pet Ultrasound
The liver, gallbladder, spleen, adrenal glands, pancreas, stomach, intestines, kidneys, bladder, and other organs can all be thoroughly examined with ultrasonography (ultrasound). When a pet is ill, this can assist us in figuring out what may be causing their illness and provide information on whether the issue is inflammatory, infectious, or malignant.
Your pet must fast the night before the abdomen ultrasound. We will shave their abdomen while they are with us because hair gets in the way of getting clear pictures. They will lie on their back in a cozy foam trough for the ultrasound itself. Although some of our more anxious patients will receive a little sedative to assist them in relaxing, the majority of pets take this procedure admirably.
Once we have the necessary ultrasound images, we submit the pictures and movies to an expert who has received board certification for interpretation. Typically, we call you after 24 hours when we receive the results to go over them and any additional advice.
